WHY VISIT BOTSWANA?

“That one’s just a log”, you tell yourself as your eyes again scan the glassy surface of the water, so still and undisturbed that it's hard to tell where the horizon starts and reflections stop. Still, you watch, for you know that beneath this illusion, beneath these mirrored waters that make it seem as if the raw blues of the sky have bled into the river itself, there is a fast current, filled with creatures that stir and hunt.

You keep watching because you know that next time it might not be a log and that here in Botswana, a place that seems to overflow with a rich, verdant, fecundity of life, patience is nearly always rewarded.

There are few sounds as evocative of a place as that of hippos grunting somewhere in the distance, few feelings as satisfying as when the ripple on the water turns out to be a crocodile or when the movement in the trees is an eagle taking flight before swooping down for fish.

Botswana is a safe, stunning and underrated destination, where the welcome is as big as the wildlife.
